Rice University Spelfie – JFK To the Moon Speech 60th Anniversary
Sept. 10

On Sept. 12, 1962, President John F. Kennedy gave a historic speech at Rice Stadium publicly committing the nation to sending a human to the Moon and bringing them back safely. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of this momentous occasion, Rice University, in partnership with NASA, is hosting a series of events to commemorate the occasion. At precisely, 12:06 pm, clouds permitting, a selfie will be taken from space courtesy of Spelfie.com and Airbus. You can be a part of the human image that will make the number 60 on the Rice football field. What a historic Saturday!

Indianapolis Colts vs. Houston Texans
Sept. 11

Are you ready for some football? If so, head to the Texans only home game in the month of September. It’s early in the season, so the Texans have a lot to prove with their young squad. Keep your eye on first-round draft pick out of LSU, cornerback Derek Stingley Jr., who will be tasked with improving the team’s secondary. Meanwhile, the Colts have brought in 15-year veteran quarterback Matt Ryan to replace Carson Wentz. Ready or not, ‘tis the season!

Los Angeles Football Club vs. Houston Dynamo
Sept. 18

This is one of your last opportunities to check out the Dynamo before the end of the regular season. The Los Angeles Football Club is coming to town and the Dynamo are looking to defeat the current MLS western conference’s top team. You can expect the Dynamo faithful to be loud, proud and full of cheers as this would be a huge win for the Houston team. Anything can happen with forward Sebas Ferreira working hard and potentially winning the team golden boot, becoming only the second player to do so in their first season with the team. Vamos!

The Woodlands Renaissance Faire

There’s fun for everyone, from the littlest court jesters to the most seasoned kings and queens.

The band is led by Blues Music Award winning Devon Allman and features the two Allman Betts Band drummers, bass, Hammond B3 organ and piano and another guitarist.
