Just named #47 (and again #1 in Texas) in North America’s 50 Best Bars, Bandista is an intimate, modern-day speakeasy (literally hidden behind a bookcase within Four Seasons Hotel Houston), reminiscent of a 1920s lounge, and it dazzles with a decadent Latin vibe. Guided by expert drink makers, guests of the 20-seat bar and lounge enjoy inventive creations, colorful and celebratory in nature, and often with unexpected elements. In addition to the standing menu, during the summer soccer tournament, guests can enjoy a menu of three special cocktails inspired by the teams playing in Houston (think unexpected combinations of flavors and elements from around the world). Bandista is open Tuesday through Saturday from 5:00 pm to 12:00 midnight. Reservations are required and are very limited, though walk-ins will be accommodated based on availability.

Zanti Cucina Italiana in River Oaks is putting a playful, limited-time spin on its signature dessert sphere this summer with a soccer-inspired presentation available June 11 through July 19. Priced at $31 and offered during lunch and dinner, the decadent dessert is a golden chocolate sphere filled with dulce de leche cake, caramelized pecans, and house-made fiordilatte gelato, finished tableside with warm dulce de leche sauce.

The savory Creamy Pepper Jack Chicken Crêpe features seasoned chicken, sautéed vegetables, mozzarella and a creamy pepper jack sauce with a subtle kick, served with a fresh spring mix salad. For dessert, the Le Champion Crêpe delivers a dramatic finale with Nutella mousse, dulce de leche, whipped cream, dark chocolate shavings and an edible gold chocolate soccer ball inspired by championship celebrations.
