Located in a 1920’s home in Houston’s Museum District, BCN Taste & Tradition brings the taste of modern Spanish cuisine to the Montrose neighborhood.
BCN, short for Barcelona, is not only a reference to the birthplace and training ground of Chef Luis Roger and owner Ignacio Torras, it is also a nod to the authentic cuisine being served. The two-story modern space includes a 10-seat bar plus seating for 54 on the main level. The second floor offers an additional 25 seats in two private dining rooms for larger groups.
As for the menu, expect coastal Spanish cuisine with many ingredients sourced straight from Spain. Try steamed mussels in a veloute of leek and Iberico, clams with a sofrito of tomato onion and garlic, or fried potatoes, over easy eggs with seared foie gras. Leave room for sweet treats like Lemon Tart with merengue, a unique take on “Crema Catalana,” which features crispy philo dough, with aged rum raisins and icy pineapple soup with coconut foam.
