Mark Dell'Osso launched Galveston Island Brewing in summer 2014, cobbling together a first-rate brewery and tap room from second-hand tanks and fixtures from breweries across the South.
The brewery on Stewart Street serves up a selection of eight to 10 brews that rotate depending on the season, including the top seller Tiki Wheat. Del’Osso learned the craft as a brewer at Beerfoot Brewery and through knowledge passed on from other local professionals. With sales jumpstarting quick, the owner was able to increase capacity and begin distributing locally.
The tap room with its copper bar and wooden stools isn’t too fancy, but it’s just right for an island-style brewery just a few feet from the Gulf.
