The Houston Chamber Choir presents six concerts per year at various locations throughout Houston.
The Houston Chamber Choir was established in 1995 by Artistic Director Robert Simpson. With 24 to 28 members at any given time, this highly flexible chamber choir is able to bring local audiences a diverse repertoire.
Invitations have taken the Chamber Choir on tour nationwide and across the world including concerts at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City and Wales, where it won honors at the Llangollen International Choral Festival. Its first national exposure came in 1999, three years after its founding, when it was invited to perform at the American Choral Directors Association national convention before 6,000 choral directors from around the world in Chicago’s famed Orchestra Hall. Since then it has received similar invitations from Chorus America, The Association of Anglican Musicians, the Association of Lutheran Musicians, and the Texas Choral Directors Association.
