Head to New Orleans without leaving Houston by brunching at Brennan’s. The menu is mouthwatering. Brennan's is known for its snapping turtle soup. J-Bar-M Barbecue is celebrating dads everywhere this Father’s Day. On Sunday, June 16, J-Bar-M BBQ is offering a memorable Father’s Day beef rib plate special ($45) with mashed potatoes and gravy and fire-roasted spring onions. Each Father’s Day special will also include one domestic bottled beer. The beef ribs will be available for purchase by the pound ($36), and additional sides, including macaroni and cheese, cole slaw, and an array of vegetables, are available for purchase a la carte. The Father’s Day special will be available on June 16 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. J-Bar-M will also be hosting live music during the weekend. Former The Voice constant Joey Green will perform Friday, June 14, at 8 p.m., while Steve Garcia and Not The Rachels will perform Saturday, June 15, at 7 p.m.

George Ranch Historical Park has a fun day planned for the history enthusiast. There will be three Pioneer Gun Classes offered the Saturday before Father’s Day. The classes take place at the 1830s Stock Farm where dad will learn how to load and shoot replica flintlocks and percussion rifles. Some replicas date back to the Alamo.
