Father’s Day takes place Sunday, June 18th this year. So celebrate dad with these great events, activities and more in H-Town.

Rock out with Dad

Let dad jam to his favorite classics as Chicago and The Doobie Brothers perform at Cynthia Woods Mitchel Pavilion in The Woodlands. Make it a full experience with a night stay at a top hotel in the area. House of Blues celebrates the day with a Blues Brother’s celebration, where he will receive a complimentary pair of the classic sunglasses with brunch. Start the big day the night before as the Fab 40 returns to Discovery Green to perform The Beatles’ recording of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, 50 years after its premiere.

The perfect gift

Sometimes it’s best to let your father pick out his own gift. Head to Kemah for their Father’s Day market, where over 20 local merchants will have items for sale, along with food trucks and more. For a more typical shopping experience, head to Manready Mercantile, where you’ll find antique and high-quality clothing, shoes and accessories. Get him dressed up with a custom Hamilton Shirt, or one of many designs at Billy Reid. Check out our men’s shopping guide for more great ideas.

Sometimes, it’s hard to find that perfect item for your father. Head to Glass Blowing Houston for a special Father’s Day glass blowing workshop, where he can make his gift himself!

Beers and BBQ

If your dad is a beer-enthusiast, get him a flight of beers at one of our favorite Houston breweries. With many locations offering food, make a meal of it and recount your favorite childhood memories over a pint. Head to Flying Saucer Downtown for a special Father’s Day with craft beer specials and food while enjoying the lively Main Street atmosphere.

For the chef in the family, get tickets to A Prime Father’s Day at The Houstonian, where he will learn the ins and outs of carving. If dad likes to eat more than cook, take him to one of our 20 awesome BBQ spots in Houston, or get him a steak at one of our top steakhouses.

Out to the ball game

Nothing says Father’s Day like heading to a baseball game with your dad, cheering on the league-leading Houston Astros. The team plays against the Boston Red Sox on June 18th inside Minute Maid Park. The ballpark recently went through renovations before the 2017 season, adding a ShakeShack burger joint, Torchy’s Tacos and additional outfield seating. Before the game, head to the Astro’s team shop to get him outfitted with a jersey, hat or shirt.

Golf balls and perfectly good airplanes

With several locations around Houston, challenge dad at one of the many golf games at Top Golf. The three-story complex offers food, drinks and the unique golfing experience that adds a whole new level of fun. Help him check skydiving off the bucket list at Blue Skies Skydiving Center at Crystal Beach. Attached to a highly-skilled instructor, get a million-dollar view of the coast as you take the dive back to earth. If an activity on wheels sounds more appealing rent a luxury vehicle from Houston Luxury Car Rentals and take on the town, or challenge his inner race car driver at K1 Speed Houston
