To Dine
Backstreet Café is a go-to spot for celebrations of all kinds, especially Father’s Day. This fun and family-friendly atmosphere is offering a special three-course menu from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The prix fixe menu is $49 per adult and $15 per child. Pick from amazing options like the grilled Texas peach salad, crawfish beignets, pan-seared sea bass, brisket hash, the Backstreet benedict and of course, desserts like chocolate truffle cake or blueberry peach lemon cake. Head to New Orleans without leaving Houston by brunching at Brennan’s. The menu is mouthwatering, and the price is fixed at $62 per person. Brennan’s is known for its snapping turtle soup. Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen is a Houston staple, so for Father’s Day, both locations will be open for in-house dining and curbside takeout. The full menu will be available, including the all-time dad favorite, the Tampiquena which is beef fajita steak, one cheese or chicken enchilada, rajas poblanas con crema, rice and tortillas. There will also be a special three-course Father’s Day menu for $34.95. If you prefer to eat at home, don’t forget your margaritas to-go!
To Do
George Ranch Historical Park has a fun day planned for the history enthusiast. There will be three Pioneer Gun Classes offered the Saturday before Father’s Day. The classes take place at the 1830s Stock Farm where dad will learn how to load and shoot replica flintlocks and percussion rifles. Some replicas date back to the Alamo. For a day of fun in the sun, head to the Kemah Boardwalk for Father’s Day. There’s nothing dad loves more than a day with his kids, so plan to ride rides and eat lots of delicious food. Head to Traders Village for the Fourth Annual Father’s Day Out concert and car show! This will be a Car Show open to all fathers with cars of all makes and models.
