Midtown Things To Do

Looking to enjoy art, dining and Houston’s best nightlife scene? Head to Houston’s Midtown where you can find it all within walking distance. There are many Houston hot spots to discover in this exciting neighborhood.

Go on a morning jog, bike ride, take an outdoor yoga class or simply get some fresh air at one of Midtown’s relaxing parks. Families can enjoy Midtown Park, a three-acre space with interactive water feature, kids playground, a dog park and festivals throughout the year. Visitors can find another fun dog park and a Mexican-style take-out spot, La Calle at Bagby Park. Be sure to snap a photo with the popular ‘MIDTOWN’ sign here.

Love art? Spend a day checking out over 20 colorful murals in Midtown. Some of our favorites are an astronaut spray painting “I <3 HOU” by Donkeeboy and an astronaut enjoying a cup of coffee at 2101 Smith Street by Capdavjon. We also recommend attending art galleries and watching incredible dance, music and theater performances at the contemporary art venue, Midtown Arts & Theater Center Houston (MATCH). Another theater to visit is The Ensemble Theatre founded in 1976 which showcases African-American art such as dramas, comedies, musicals and more.

As Houston’s most popular entertainment and nightlife spot, Midtown offers an array of local live music venues, incredible dining, bars and nightclub options. Rock out to your favorite local bands at The Continental Club, a live music venue housed in a historical building on Main Street. Grab a tropical cocktail and get a great view of the downtown skyline from 77 Degrees, a multiple story club with cabanas and great music. Another great club is Pour Behavior, to celebrate your next birthday with confetti parties, game day with cold beers and delicious pizza, or simply dance the night away with live DJ music. Other must-visit bars are the retro Unicorn Disco, whimsical Wonder Bar and neon-themed Electric FeelGood.
