Museum District Restaurants
With 19 walkable museums around The Houston Museum District, you're going to need to take some pit stops to refuel, Houston-style.
If you are looking for some good, down-home comfort food, head to Lucille’s. This southern comfort restaurant has an expansive menu where all of the dishes reflect the chef-owner Chris Williams’ great grandmother’s recipes.
Also, a favorite of the locals, Barnaby’s Cafe is a dog-friendly diner serving home-cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Pro-tip: The meal portions are generous and you will not be able to stop munching on their french fries once you start.
In true Houston fashion, we had to mention the fusion-y Dak & Bop, a laid-back spot for craft beer and twice-fried Korean fried chicken. It’s so good, you’ll have a hard time saying Southern fried chicken reigns supreme. #flavortown
One thing you'll learn is that no Houston neighborhood is complete without it's own tried-and-true, beloved Tex-Mex restaurant. The Museum District’s is Spanish Village Restaurant, a kitschy local institution that has been delighting patrons for more than 50 years. Their combo plates will give you a little taste of all your favorites: tacos, enchiladas, fajitas, omg my mouth is watering while typing this.
