It’s been a little more than three years since the Houston Department of Health and Human Services (HDHHS) began issuing permits allowing pups on the patios of qualifying Houston restaurants.

The initiative required a year of dedicated advocacy by the local grassroots organization, Paws on Patios, but today the movement continues to grow with more than 56 HDHHS approved patios currently making room for Houstonian’s four-legged friends.
