Beef shawarma and leg of lamb, hummus two ways and falafel—Aladdin Mediterranean Cuisine brings it all in one of the hottest spots for restaurants in the city.
Situated at the corner of Montrose and Westheimer, Aladdin doesn’t get a lot of the fanfare garnered by its other restaurant neighbors. And that’s ok, because there’s rarely a line at this friendly, counter-service restaurant. Rather, you’ll find a steady stream of regular patrons who know good Mediterranean when they taste it.
The atmosphere is sparse but cozy, with slight Mediterranean touches such as the ornate light fixtures and artwork depicting Greek isles on the walls.
Have your pick of any number of entrees, from fresh gyros to chicken kabobs, plus several different types of salads and sides including pomegranate eggplant, stuffed grape leaves, kibbie just to name a few.
The best part: dinner combos are around $10 and you’ll probably be able to make two meals out of your order. There are also traditional Greek and Lebanese desserts, including mouth-watering baklava. Aladdin also offers catering and take-out.
