Candente is from the team that created the heavily lauded BBQ joint The Pit Room. Local restaurateur Michael Sambrooks has crafted a one-of-a-kind Tex-Mex experience with a traditional-styled place with simple tables and chairs, long bar with bright orange stools and airy patio in the heart of Montrose.
Diners are treated to starters like a turned-up seven layer dip with Texas red chili and taco meat, and the staples like fresh guacamole and gooey queso. For the main course, we recommend the decadent Tampiquena, a 9-ounce prime ribeye topped with two cheese enchiladas, grilled onions and chili lime butter. Other staples like enchiladas, tamales, quesadillas and brisket nachos featuring a full half pound of chopped smoked brisket are served up with beans and rice.
