Located on Cullen Boulevard, Christia Adair Park offers a number of playgrounds and picnic spots as well as tennis courts, a nature trail and other amenities.

One of the central elements of the park is the John Biggers mural housed inside the park pavilion/meeting room. Biggers was a longtime Houston resident whose art was inspired by the Civil Rights movement. The mural at Adair park depicts the life of the park’s namesake, Mrs. Christia Adair.

Adair was a church and community leader who devoted her life to gaining equal rights for African Americans and women. Adair was the first black Democrat Committeewoman in Texas and was named to the Texas Women’s Hall of Fame in 1984. An exhibit of her life and experiences is also on display in the park’s meeting room.
