Join Discover Houston Tours and find out why Texas means friendly.
Discover Houston Tours is the oldest, for-profit, public walking tour company in Houston. Since 1987, our tours have highlighted history, art, architecture, shopping, dining, and more, all flavored with Houston’s unique multicultural spirit.
Ghost Walks 2015. We introduced public ghost tours to Houston 15 years ago and continue the tradition with this year’s family-friendly tour, available on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in October. Each tour is limited to 20 people, so don’t wait until the last minute to register.
Paranormal Pub Tours, available Wednesday-Saturday from 7pm-10pm, are fun, adults-only, walking tours in the Downtown Historic District. Starting at the Spaghetti Warehouse, they feature stops at two-three pubs and three urban legends and one true tale about deceased Houstonians. This is not a ghost hunt but you never know what your camera might capture. Each tour is limited to 14 people.
TunnelWalk & Rail Tours are recommended for a visitor’s first day because they are a fun and informative introduction to neighborhoods along Houston’s MetroRail Red Line and the Downtown Houston Tunnel System. Four hours will fly by as you experience art, architecture, history, shops, and restaurants, enjoy a Dutch-treat lunch underground, and take in the view from Chase Tower’s 60th-floor sky lobby. There wil be an optional rest stop at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, on Thursdays when admission is free. These tours are available only on weekdays because the Tunnel is closed at night, on weekends, and national holidays. This tour is limited to 14 people.
Riding the Rails Tours. Become a MetroRail expert! Travel from the Fannin-South Park & Ride Station on the Red Line into Downtown. After a rest stop, ride the Purple Line round-trip, with stops at the University of Houston and the Martin Luther King, Jr., Memorial. After another rest stop at the EaDo/Stadium Station, transfer to the Green Line and ride round-trip, with a rest stop at the Coffee Plant/Second Ward Station. Finally, transfer Downtown to the Red Line and head back to the Fannin-South Park & Ride Station, with a rest stop at the Ensemble/HCC Station in Midtown. There will be opportunities to enjoy Dutch-treat snacks along the way. Suitable only for ages 13 and up. These tours are available from 1pm-5pm on Saturdays and Sundays. This tour is limited to 14 people.
