In northeast cities like New York or Boston there’s a Dunkin’ Donuts on every other corner. But in the greater Houston area, they are a rare find. With only four stores within a 50-mile radius of the city, it comes as no surprise that local coffee and munchkin lovers went into extreme panic mode when the Bellaire store closed in 2009.
Soon after the doors shut, another DD franchisee Harshad Patel—who owns the location in Pasadena and another on FM 1960—moved quickly to renovate and re-open the location. A little more than a year later, in November 2010, Bellaire welcomed back its Dunkin Donuts outpost, complete with a new interior, new AC system and kitchen equipment.
Now, locals are back to enjoying the fresh-baked pastries, bagel sandwiches and just-brewed coffee that the company is known for.
