Fluff Bake Bar has been a long time vision for Pastry Chef Rebecca Masson. The Midtown spot, which marries a bakery and bar concept, opened in late May 2015, making Masson’s dream of owning her own sweet shop a reality.
As it turns out, Houstonians shared her dream, helping support the creation of the bar in a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign that raised more than $50,000. Of course, the Le Cordon Bleu grad’s reputation in the city certainly played a big part in the fundraiser’s success. She’s manned the mixer at restaurants like New York’s Daniel and The Red Cat, as well as Houston’s Catalan, Ibiza and 17* Restaurant. Masson has also operated a thriving wholesale business for years, stocking area coffee shops and markets with her signature sweets.
In her Midtown bake shop, guests will find the chef’s popular classics like Fluffernutters, SOLs (her version of a moonpie), cookies and brownies, but they will also find charcuterie plates, plated desserts, coffee, beer and wine offerings.
