Fogo de Chão serves succulent Brazilian mixed-grill meats and salads in a bustling, gaucho-themed dinner spot.
Brazilian cowboy cuisine is but one way to describe this unique, upscale meat-lover's dream come true, set in a South American peasant-hall atmosphere. During the "continuous tableside service," waiters dressed as gauchos weave through the dining room, slicing more than a dozen tantalizing grilled beef, pork, lamb and chicken selections off enormous skewers directly onto your plate.
Geared for an epicurean's grilled-meat excursion, business dining or special occasions, the all-you-can-eat dinner is fixed at about $47 (the lunch version is around $30), and is worth every penny. Conversationalists should expect frequent interruptions as the Fogo staff provides continuous service. Circular cards colored red (for "Nao obrigado") on one side and green ("Sim por favor") on the other, let diners signal (or halt) the seemingly endless parade of carnivorous delights. Don't overlook the wide range of salad greens, delectable cheeses, salmon and marinated olives at the buffet.
