It’s been more than a decade since chef/restaurateur and Brooklyn-native Jonathan Levine moved to Houston to open his New American catering company, Jonathan’s The Rub. Set just a stone’s throw from the Katy Freeway—in a tiny, Hedwig Village strip center—the business originally focused on catering, before evolving into one of the Memorial area’s most-loved restaurants.
In fact, Chef Levine’s neighborhood haunt has become so popular that it needed to expand in 2011 to accommodate dining demand—doubling the spot’s original capacity. Today, The Rub can host 90 guests at a time—some inside, some outside—for steak and seafood dishes, as well as a not-to-be-missed, specially seasoned burger.
Check it out for lunch or dinner, served daily, or call ahead and get it to go.
