Want to know where some of Houston’s top interior designers find one-of-a-kind treasures to fill the homes of the city’s well-heeled residents? Check out west Houston’s Memorial Antiques and Interiors. Dubbed MAI by regulars, the shop opened in 2006 and is known for its always-changing assortment of antiques, vintage and new décor.
Tucked away, on the south side of I-10, between Campbell and Voss, MAI boasts 9,000-square-feet of magazine-worthy vignettes. More than 45 (hand-picked) dealers fill the space, touting pieces pulled from countries all around the world. In one nook, customers might discover a pair of 18th-century sconces hanging above a French neo-classic desk or, just steps away, a set of 19th-century hand-painted English creamware.
While you’re there, check out MAI Consigned. Just a few doors down, the store’s sister shop offers consignment pieces from decorators and designers to the public.
MAI is open seven days a week.
