A slice of California arrived in Texas in 2019 when Mendocino Farms opened in Rice Village. The sandwich shop first opened in downtown Los Angeles and, after expanding to several other California cities, made its way to Texas with Houston first one the list.
In addition to their seasonal menu which changes accordingly, Mendocino offers classics like a farm club sandwich with smoked turkey, herb aioli, nitrate-free bacon and smashed avocado. The Peruvian steak sandwich, fried chicken sandwich and the avocado and quinoa salad are also some customer favorites. The shop sources their ingredients from local farmers and prides themselves on having regular customers whom they get to know quickly. Customers have said they are often greeted by name and if they are one to order the same thing, the staff at Mendocino farms knows their order.
A mixture of long community tables and smaller booths make up the darling, chic-rustic vibe in the dining rooms. Complete with ample outdoor seating on the succulent decorated patio and a kid’s corner adorned with a chalkboard for drawing, Mendocino Farms is ideal for a delicious lunch spot to grab something quick or stay awhile and enjoy the friendly faces and charming atmosphere.
