Following the success of both the Sugar Land and Greenspoint Lone Star College outposts, Minuti Coffee (pronounced Min-ooo-tee) has once again expanded its Italian-inspired caffeine concept, this time with a location on the ground-floor of the historic Rice Hotel. Set on Texas Avenue and Main Street—just steps from the MetroRail—the sleek spot is perking up the downtown neighborhood seven days a week.
Inside, the red and black interior pays homage to Italy with Ferrari and Vespa artwork hanging on the walls and opera playing overhead. It’s the real deal in each cup, too. The well-prepared coffee is created by a ‘roast master’ in Italy, before making its way into the hands of loyal patrons.
Head there for an end-of-the-day rendez-vous with friends or bring the laptop and take advantage of Minuti’s free wifi. Be sure to sample some of the fresh-baked pastries (cinnamon scones, hot chocolate chip cookies) and smoothies, too. The new spot is open until 10PM Sunday through Thursday and 11PM, Friday and Saturday nights.
