Stockyard Bar-B-Q

It's not easy competing in the barbecue arena in Houston. There are many great places for this quintessential delicacy of the South. But Stockyard Bar-B-Q is throwing its hat in the ring and drawing patrons to the Galleria area for chicken, ribs and all the fixin's.

In the tradition of great barbecue joints, plates come with your choice of one, two or three meats and a couple of sides. Choose from sweet and wet or dry and spicy ribs, sliced or chopped brisket, boudin stuffed pork loin and other meats. For sides, try the fried sweet corn, dirty rice or mac 'n cheese. If you're brave, order the heart attack potato.

We're particularly a fan of the hay stack: homemade steak fries with sauteed onions, fried jalapenos and your choice of meat (with a side of ranch of course).
