Allison Young Chavez and her husband Ivan Chavez, co-founders of Houston’s Sweet Paris Creperie & Cafe, expanded their sweet business in 2015, much to the delight of Memorial-area patrons. After successfully opening their first Rice Village store in 2012, followed by a second location in Mexico, the entrepreneurs branched out again, adding a third outpost in West Houston’s CityCentre development.
From savory crepes like the truffle caprese with basil infused cherry tomatoes and mozzarella to sweet delights such as the very berry crème brulee, the spot has it all. More than two-dozen crepe selections are complemented by several Panini options and assorted crepes for kids. One specialty sweet crêpe called a s’mores crêpe is prepared by torching marshmallows and stuffing them inside a Nutella filled crêpe, drizzled with graham crackers.
According to Sweet Paris’ proprietors, the menu is the result of careful collaboration with French chefs experimenting with non-traditional ingredients. Thus you have options like the roasted turkey, grapes and brie with white grapes and walnuts. And of course being a cafe, there is a full espresso bar along with specialities such as Mexican hot chocolate and a spicy chai latte. Sangria, mimosas and other wine-based drinks are also available.
