Tapester’s Grill has been on the back burner of John Taper’s stove for the past decade and, in summer 2015, that culinary dream became a reality. Armed with more than 30 years of restaurant experience—from start-ups to large corporations—Taper brings Houston’s Meyerland area some of his favorite food in a come-as-you-are, neighborhood format.
The restaurant, which is a hands-on family operation, offers customers high-energy counter service in a warmly-inviting atmosphere. A dramatic chalkboard wall, shiplap accents and diner-style serveware add to Tapester’s kitch charm, while the comfort food-filled menu rounds out the experience. In the morning, stop by for a signature cinnamon roll or breakfast taco, paired with a cup of Katz coffee. At lunch and dinner, burgers take center stage, paired with housemade fries.
Tapster’s Grill is open Monday through Friday—6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.—for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
