The Edison Houston

Residents living northeast of The Heights were ecstatic when Edison set up shop in fall 2016. Bringing an effortlessly-cool vibe to the neighborhood, the gastropub impresses with a warmly-inviting interior and hip patio space that tempts guests to kick back for beers and bites.

Though the concept takes its name from the street it’s situated on, it seems appropriate that Edison-bulb pendants and bistro lights would come into play, illuminating the bar’s industrial awnings, herringbone shiplap and crisp white tabletops. Outside, patio tables fill the alfresco expanse, customized with drink troughs, ensuring “buckets” of beer stay ice cold. Don’t miss the culinary offerings, which Edison takes seriously in everything from braised pork shanks and Gulf snapper to pancakes, paired with duck confit. A mix of craft brew, cocktails and wine options add to the appeal.
