From playing fancy parties to opening for rock bands Houston’s very own Two Star Symphony is anything but your stereotypical string quartet. The group has been making music together for over ten years and do not plan on stopping any time soon.

Members Jo Bird, Debra Brown, Margaret Lejeune and Jerry Ochoa draw their inspiration from things such as darkness, ghosts, cartoons and even rap artists. Their distinctive sound is a result of their unique style. They do not hand write music, they simply play. Each member is responsible for composing his or her own piece of the puzzle causing each creation to become more unique and innovative than the last. This matchless imagination has made it possible for Two Star’s music to appeal to novice and avid classical music enthusiasts alike.

Two Star performed at the infamous SXSW Music Festival in Austin in 2010 and 2011 and has won “Best Indefinable Band” at the Houston Press Music Awards in 2009 and 2010. The American Ballet Theatre Studio Company, Dominic Walsh Dance Theatre and Houston based BobbinDoctrin Puppet Theatre have all featured Two Star’s original works.
