The University of Houston-Clear Lake Art Gallery is one of Bay Area Houston’s premier visual arts venues.
Exhibitions include group shows featuring UHCL students, thematic exhibitions of regional artists, and retrospectives of nationally and internationally recognized artists. The UHCL Art Gallery offers many educational programs throughout the year such as public lectures, artist demonstrations and hands-on art-making activities. Through its innovative exhibitions and programs, the gallery seeks to promote scholarship, inspire creative excellence, and deepen an understanding of the visual arts.
Located in the original location of the UHCL gift shop, the gallery has been in its current location since 2004 and underwent a major renovation in 2012.
The UHCL Art Gallery is open Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. to noon. The gallery is closed weekends, holidays and during installations (visit the website to confirm). Admission is always free. The gallery is located on the first level of the university's Bayou Building. Visitor parking is available on University Dr. across from the Bayou Building.
