Uniquely Houston Bed and Breakfasts
These properties offer a non-traditional welcome
Looking for a unique lodging experience in Houston? Check in to one of the city's cozy bed and breakfasts for something out of the ordinary. Whether it's a respite in the heart of the action or a Texas country experience, visitors are sure to find something distinctive that appeals to them.
Constructed in several phases beginning in 1980, Robin's Nest Bed & Breakfast is nestled on a quiet street straddling the Museum District and Montrose. The original home was the work of Betty and Frederick Kaufhold, who built a dairy farm "way out in the country" from Downtown Houston. Today it's very much in the heart of the city and offers 11 guest rooms, each with unique accents.
Just steps from the bars and restaurants that make Midtown one of the liveliest hoods in Houston, you'll find La Maison. This $2 million uber-urban B&B features seven guest rooms that offer amenities such as whirlpools and flat screens, not to mention fantastic views of the Downtown skyline. Downstairs, a parlor, living room and dining room area lends to the property's at-home vibe and plays host to a daily, Southern-style breakfast.
The meticulously renovated bed and breakfast called Houston Towers is located just 10 minutes south of downtown in Houston's Third Ward district. The inn offers over 80 years of history with modern updates and luxury abound. Cool greys, checkered flooring, and elaborate woodwork finishes welcome guests into the dramatic front entrance space where any guest is sure to feel like royalty.
If a slice of Old Texas is what you seek, consider Texas Ranch Life. Located on the 1,800-acre Lonesome Pine Ranch established in the 1820s, this "working ranch" is home to quarter horses, American bison, abundant wildlife, and one of the country's largest registered Texas longhorn herds. The ranch is a little over an hour west of Downtown Houston in Chappell Hill, Texas and provides accommodations for up to 60 people across multiple historic homes that have been relocated to the site. A continental breakfast is served in the main house and breakfast packages are available in the other lodgings.
